Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of HP Officejet Pro L7780 Color All-in-One Printer/Fax/Scanner/Copier (C8192A#ABA)Customer Review: HP L7780 Printer Summary: 4 StarsI find the computer to be faster than its predecessor (An Epson 4800). The price for the service I hope it will give is great. I never got the wireless communications to work. I gave up and hooked it up via usb.

Customer Review: Good but tricky network setup Summary: 4 StarsI bought this printer dispite the desidedly mixed reviews after trying the Cannon MX850 which printed too lightly. I have always been a fan of HP products and liked the dual printing trays and other features. A retailer put this printer on a super after Christmas special so I bought it.
The advantages of this printer are obvious from the product overview. However, I have found that most of the problems others have had are true.
Annoying Problems.
- Cheaply built. Effects non-essentail items mostly but at this price it's distracting.
- Stupid tray options. Can set the larger tray as default but this only effects jobs from the computer. Would be nice to have photo paper in the smaller tray if everything else didn't print there regaurdless of the settings.
- Tricky network setup. More on this below.
- BIG! This sucker is really tall. The box is huge (forget the sedan) and heavy.
Network problems:
All network printer installations can be tricky over the network. The HP was frustrating because I could connect to the excellent web interface (type the IP into your browser) and could manually install the printer. However, the automatic install failed to find it thus preventng HP Solution Center from being able to scan or fax. The problem was my fire wall so not HP's fault but took an hour to find. Also, simple documents printed find but larger ones would not. I had to kick the network speed down to 10Mbs, something most people would not know to try. That fixed the problem.
Summary:
After a day, I'm happy with it with the exception of the cheap build quality and the stupid tray options. Just remember that all network printers can be difficult to install. This fact may account for many of the negative reviews here. (Cannon requires USB to install which helps get around many problems.)
Customer Review: HP Disaster Summary: 1 StarsI purchased an HP Officejet Pro L7780, which was delivered promptly, and looked brand new. It is an update of the one I just wore out, which worked great. The software did not install properly. It would not scan. After two extended sessions with HP and hours of wasted time, it got worse. My computer could not even find it. I hired a geek to fix it, which cost more than the machine. It was really a mess. When it got going, the black ink would not flow. Now over a month later and much wiser, I use another printer for any job requiring more than two pages. This thing may work right some day, but it will be my last HP.
Customer Review: Greater than expected, but how do I get my rebate. Summary: 5 StarsI did comparison shopping of multiple multi-function printers looking for wireless internet capabilities at a reasonable price. When I found this item on Amazon for [...] less than the sale price at Staples, Best Buy and MicroCenter and a [...] rebate to boot, this was too much to believe. When it arrived, it wasn't used or reconditioned - it was new and full of all of the best features - two-sideed printing, wired or wireless networking; everything I wanted and more. It also has digital document scanning and filing - directly to your hard drive and encrypted to store all your financial papers or anything of personal of business value. I told two other employees at work about it and can't stop praising it or the deal from Amazon.com. Now can someone tell me how to get my [...] rebate - and the deal will be totally perfect.
