Customer Review: Easy set up IF you read the wireless guide

After reading all the other reviews I have several comments. To the person that got "extra" software unwanted installed, you should have thoroughly read each screen as set up presented them... there is a place that allows you to check a box for each program. Read through each setup screen before blindly forging ahead! For installing I rated this 5 stars... as has been mentioned; it is critical to turn off any antivirus protection so the device can be found during setup. The key to installing this printer - just plug in the power, turn off your antivirus, don't plug in the USB, don't plug in an ethernet cable and follow setup screens from the disc. Setup will tell you when to use the USB cable. My OS is Vista Business and I got this working for both my desktop and laptop wireless in about an hour. The only reason it took that long was I made two mistakes with the laptop - antivirus was left on, and I also had a wireless network connection going so the setup could not configure the printer on it. I admit it, I tried several times before realizing the antivirus program was on, hehe.... then that the wireless networking was also turned on. If you're on ethernet with a wireless router you're gonna love this printer!
