Customer Review: Just an okay printer

I purchased this printer when my all-in-one Brother had to go into the shop. Staples was discontinuing this model, so had several on sale for around $35.00. The ink cartridges cost between $20. & $23 each - two required. I get around 200 pages from the black & maybe 160 in color. Compared to the Brother unit, this printer is faster, quieter, and gives minimally better prints. Also, compared to the Brother unit, the HP has no problems feeding card-stock paper. The one time the tri-color cartridge is a negative point, is if I am doing a large project that only needs one or two of the colors. Those colors are empty, but the remaining color is full. The cartridge still has to be replaced. It has been a "work-horse" for me! Last year, I went through 60-something cartridges in it! Would I buy this model again? Maybe. It depends on whether my all-in-one still works. I like having the availability of a copier & scanner. I would most likely buy a HP all-in-one. It is worth around $40. as a new-item price, but not much more than that. It is a cute compact unit, that has only three buttons on it - printing preferences are run through the computer.
