Customer Review: Terrible Waste of Time and Money

I purchased this a year ago and have been frustrated every month. First off, it prints incredibly slow, whether it's a photo or a simple black & white document. Worse, the printer will refuse to print a black & white document if there is an empty color ink cartridge. FURTHERMORE, when you run out of the light blue or dark blue ink, it doesn't specify which of the blues, which means you can end up buying the WRONG blue ink (the cartridges don't fit in each others' slots.) The drivers get messed up all the time and the paper feeder pulls too many pages at once, which sucks if you're printing a duplexed brochure - everything loses pagination once it skips a page. Overall, this printer has done nothing but infuriate me.

The scanner uses a Contact Image Scanner (CIS) for scans at up to 9600 dpi optical resolution with a scan size of up to 8.5 by 11.7 inches. The copier supports pages up to this size as well and you can make up to 50 copies in one pass. Color copies are supported and there are settings for enlarging and reducing from 50 to 400 percent. HP Photosmart C8180 supports Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP Home and Professional, and Windows Vista as well as Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4.x. It is backed by a 1-year warranty.
