Customer Review: Best HP made in a while
Summary: 5 Stars

As an engineer who thought that the HP41 was the best calculator made, this is a close second.

Customer Review: HP 35s Calculator Review
Summary: 5 Stars

It amazes me in my Engineering town nobody carries HP rpn scientific calculators. I love this calculator. It is totally cool that you can switch from rpn to algebraic with 2 key strokes. I am working on a European job and the calculator has many useful metric conversions. The ease of adding fractions is great too. The use of the alphabet is a bit criptic, but worth the effort to learn (from the included manual) long enough to program a few of your most frequent calculations. The HP Solve function used to solve any variable in an equation without rewriting the equation is awesome and unbelievable it is available in the $40 - $50 price range. The size, display, and buttons don't leave anything else to be desired. I feel sorrry for TI users that will never know the power of this HP because brand loyalty. This calculator in algebraic mode can be as familiar to use as a TI, but the features will blow your mind. I am thinking of buying a second identical calculator because I would hate if in ten years mine quits and I could find as feature packed calculator for the price. Ten years is about the life I got out of the last HP I had, the multiplication button would not register when pushed. I am glad it quit now as the upgrade I made with the HP 35s is the best money I ever spent.

Customer Review: fast way to calculate and easy to use.

None will match the 48GX yet we see some similarities. It has the same feel and accepted for the PE exam. Good calculator, will allow for speed calculations.

Customer Review: RPN still useful to have
Summary: 4 Stars

Great to still have an RPN scientific calculator available again. This HP is a a bit big, but not heavy, compared to other scientific calcs out there and doesn't have a solar recharging function. It does have the 'old' HP keyboard design, so simple to use for any of us that have used these commonly in the past. Thanks for bringing it back.

Customer Review: A Lot of Calculator for the Money
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a really nice calculator. I do agree with the other comments, the screen has a bit more glare than the 33S, but the keys are more solid and the keyboard is FAR easier to read and find functions. It was nice to have the old HP color scheme back as well. The STO and Square (x^2) keys now require a shift, which is unfortunate, but I'm not sure what key I would trade to make it a normal key. The polar-rectangular functions are gone, which is odd for a device marketed to surveyors.

The calculator arrived in a plastic clamshell package, batteries uninstalled and no printed manual (only a thin quick-start booklet, manual on CD). Such a fine product deserves better packaging and would leave a better first impression. This is a very minor point and one mostly forgotten after a few days.

Final words: This is, I think, the most feature rich, high quality calculator on the market right now for under $100. If they ever make a graphic calculator in the same style, I will buy it as well.

2 Weeks Later
I have used it quite a bit in 2 weeks (I'm taking physics), and no regrets. I called for the printed manual and got it in 4 or 5 days. I wasn't sure what to say about the semi-hardshell carrying case but I think I like it more than the soft cases I have had for other calculators. There is a quirk in the trigonometry section, they explain around it in the manual, but it's a bug. Take the sin of pi radians. Should be zero. The calculator reports it as -2.06762E-13. I don't remember this problem in other calculators... strange.
